A new jihadist group is expected to be active in Syria. The news from the jihadist center about this is almost certain. The question of declaration is a matter of time if there is no new urgency.
The leaders of this group are former ones of the Nasra Front, who came out after the final declaration of disengagement from al-Qaeda. And this is an objection to them on this step, which they described as a denial of allegiance without fulfilling the conditions and without the consent of the rule of Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri.
In the forefront of these are Dr. Sami al-Aridi, the former head of the Nasserah Front; Abu Jleibib of Jordan (Iyad al-Tubasi), the former leader of the Nasra Front in Daraa and Quneitra; Abu Khadija of Jordan and Abu Hammam al-Shami.
The purpose of this short article is not just to convey a news – which may have been so well known – but it is about making two very important points: first one, this group harm more than the benefit of much. Second one, this group is not viable.
First, this group follows al-Qaeda, and therefore it is a reason to increase the scourge and the plight of the people of the north of Syria, and a new threat against the Syrian people under the pretext of combating terrorism. This means the return of bombs of the International Coalition in liberated areas after the bombing stopped completely because of the formation of the Liberation Organization Sham.
Of course the group will not declare that it is allegiance to al-Qaeda, but the children of Idlib know this as well as the American and International Intelligence, so we do not disclose it in secret.
Second, this group has no support in Syria. There are no scholars in the Levant who will accept or admit it, but all will reject them strongly. There is not one faction in Syria who will accept to cooperate with it, and even the nearest people (Al Nosra Front) will be at enmity with them. It will not be recognized or cooperated with any gathering, council, service, scientific, administrative or informational association in the liberated areas, and this is known.
Thirdly, this group will be without fortified strongholds, and the reason is really simple: no faction will allow it to open centers or headquarters in its areas. It will not be accepted by the Zanki in the western Aleppo countryside or by the Al Nosra Front in the city of Idlib or by the Ahrar Al Sham in the western Hama countryside. And their sources of funding are weak, so their effectiveness will be very poor as well as their great harm.
Fourthly, the leaders of this new group are mostly non-Syrian, predominantly Jordanian, and most of its soldiers are likely to be non-Syrians.
The thought of the fossilized heads of this group and their close association with the jihadist view of Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi, is known as the closest idea to organize the “state” and its rules over most groups in Syria – Islamic and non-Islamic – with deception, misguidance and deviation. This will make this group a source of discontent and alienation of the Syrian factions and the general public, and will make them a grave for the extremists and hardliners.
The group will also be a haven for terrorist militants.
In conclusion, it is clear that a group of these specifications is useless and not viable.
Update: all the mentioned names are now under arrest by the Front of Victory.
