News of the death of Jamal Khashoggi at the headquarters of the Saudi consulate in Istanbul

There is still no confirmed news about the fate of Saudi opposition writer Jamal Khashoggi, who disappeared last Tuesday when he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul to conduct some transactions. The Turkish authorities believe that the prominent Saudi journalist, who disappeared a few days ago, was killed inside the consulate.

“The initial assessment of Turkish police is that Mr. Khashoggi was killed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul,” a Turkish official told Reuters. We believe the killing was deliberate and that the body was taken out of the consulate .

Below more detail about the physical liquidation of the prominent Saudi writer.

“Mujtahd” famous Saudi account on “Twitter” said Turkish sources insist that Jamal Khashoggi was tortured, then killed, his body was cut off, and all of that was filmed. He sent the videotape to Mohammed bin Salman to enjoy the scene.

If confirmed, it seems that the news of his departure from Turkey and his arrival in Saudi Arabia is incorrect and Turkey is supposed to announce the full details.

A source close to the Turkish government said the police believe that Khashoggi was killed inside the Saudi consulate by a team that came to Istanbul on the same day.

The Washington Post, quoting two sources familiar with the investigation, said the team that carried out the assassination was from Saudi Arabia and was composed of 15 people. If Khashoggi death was confirmed, it would constitute a shocking Saudi escalation to silence the opposition .

In Washington, the State Department said in a statement: “We can not comment on reports of Khashoggi death and we follow it closely.” Senate senator Chris Murphy commented: “The confirmation of Khashoggi assassination will be a deep rift in our relationship with Saudi Arabia.”

“Khashoggi’s assassination will be a terrible sign for critics that they are in danger even outside Saudi Arabia” Amnesty International said.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told Bloomberg news agency that Khashoggi had left the consulate minutes or minutes after his entry, and that the Saudi authorities would allow Turkey to inspect the consulate if it wished. But the AKP adviser Yassin Aktay said on Saturday ” The offer of the Crown Prince is unconvincing”.
